Dedication to Clinical Excellence
Consistent with our mission, vision, and values; Great Lakes Dental Partners’s (GLDP) pursuit of excellence is anchored in achieving optimal dental care and outcomes, while maintaining clinical autonomy. We are driven by respect, quality, teamwork, professionalism, and growth. To effectively evaluate and support key clinical initiatives and promote clinical excellence throughout our practice network, we established a Dental Advisory Board.
The Dental Advisory Board (DAB) at GLDP plays a pivotal role in ensuring that patient care remains at the forefront of the organization’s mission. Comprised of a diverse group of clinical experts, including general dentists, specialists, and hygienists from practices across Illinois and Indiana, the DAB serves as a vital conduit between frontline clinical staff and the GLDP Leadership Team.
Led by esteemed regional clinical leaders, Dr.. Dan Dohnalek, Dr. Tom Brzostowski, Dr. Larry Adams and VP of Clinical Services, Sarah Velasco, the DAB acts as the “voice of the provider” within the organization. Their primary objective is to provide strategic clinical guidance and recommendations on a wide range of critical matters affecting patient care and clinical operations. In addition to the clinical leaders, members of the GLDP Leadership Team, including Chief Executive Officer, Peter Roehmholdt, Executive Chairman, Kevin Offel, and SVP of Operations, Leanne Wypych attend DAB meetings as Executive Sponsors. Their involvement underscores the organization’s commitment to collaboration between clinical and administrative leadership in driving continuous improvement and innovation in patient-centered care delivery.
The scope of the DAB’s responsibilities is comprehensive and multifaceted. From advising on Continuing Education (CE) Program Development to evaluating and recommending Medical Technology Enhancements, the DAB addresses key areas essential for maintaining clinical excellence. Additionally, the board oversees initiatives such as Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Programs, which foster knowledge exchange and professional development among clinical staff. Hygiene Program Goals and Clinical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are also within the purview of the DAB, ensuring that the highest standards of oral hygiene and clinical outcomes are consistently achieved across all GLDP practices. Furthermore, the board plays a crucial role in Doctor and Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) Recruiting and Retention efforts, helping to attract and retain top-tier talent vital for delivering exceptional patient care.
Through regular quarterly meetings, the DAB serves as a platform for robust dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaborative decision-making. By harnessing the collective expertise and insights of its members, the board plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and clinical policies of GLDP, ultimately enhancing the quality of care provided to patients across the organization.
