Preston Pownell

VP of Strategy

Preston Pownell joins Great Lake Dental Partners as the Vice President of Strategy, bringing over 5 years of hands-on experience in strategy and finance across a broad range of healthcare and professional services organizations.

Most recently, Preston worked as a healthcare consultant at Chartis in the private equity advisory practice, partnering with private equity clients on buy-side and sell-side commercial due diligence assessments and value-creation strategies across the healthcare ecosystem. Before joining Chartis, Preston spent several years on the internal strategy team at UT Southwestern Medical Center, driving operational, financial, and clinical strategic planning initiatives for high-visibility expansion opportunities. Prior to this, Preston was an Associate in KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice, supporting projects across financial due diligence and transaction advisory services.

Preston holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and a Masters in Financial Management from Texas A&M University as well as an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business. Preston is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas.

Preston resides in Dallas, TX with his wife (Katie), daughter (Hallie), and crazy dog (Quinn). Outside of the office, Preston is an avid runner and can typically be found on any given Saturday morning enjoying a post-run biscuit and coffee with his family at their favorite breakfast spot.
